CHG made great strides in the year 2019, with remarkable progress achieved both in terms of local fundraising and project implementation at the project site.

We thank our board members for their personal commitment both technically and financially to CHG over the period of one year.

We also thank our partners Commonwealth Housing Trust – UK, LDS Charity, Lotto Foundation and Yetu Initiative – Aga Khan Foundation for their financial and technical support. We are indeed most grateful and looking forward to strengthening our partnership in 2020 and continue making a difference.

  • We built a septic tank and constructed a water tower, in addition, installed water tanks to supply water to all housing units.
  • Installed Water supply pipes within the site.
  • We also won matching funds grants after raising money locally through small donations.
  • Joined KPDA Associate Membership and hoping to learn from this great association of Property developers in Kenya.

We were also able to develop internal and external working policies and these include Financial and Anti-terrorism – money laundering, as well as Procurement Policies and it is projected that these policies are geared towards strengthening accountability systems within and support CHG Management systems.

In June, Construction of 5 foundation units begun and ended on 2nd September. The activities as shown in the pictures include: excavation, digging of foundation trenches, foundation walling,back-filling and compacting, BRC laying and slab laying.

We have managed to complete the show house at the site and the construction of the remaining four units is currently underway with the walling phase already completed. Green measures have been taken into considerations with large windows to allow for enough light and proper disposal of the concrete waste that will later be used as back-fill.

We would like to thank all our donors for their support.
